WHAT WILL I GAIN FROM VALENHORA?
Valenhora is a mentorship program designed to help participants enhance their skills, explore career paths, and build meaningful connections in creative industries. You’ll be paired with an experienced mentor who can guide you through real-world challenges and help you set actionable goals.
HOW DOES VALENHORA SUPPORT ME?
Besides one-on-one mentorship, Valenhora offers workshops, networking events, and resources to improve professional development. Our volunteers are always available to provide guidance, advice, and encouragement throughout the six-month program.
WHO CAN JOIN VALENHORA?
Valenhora is open to individuals from underrepresented or diverse backgrounds in creative industries. This includes those facing barriers due to gender, ethnicity, sexuality, neurodiversity, or disability. If you identify with one or more of these groups, you are welcome to apply.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME AS A MENTEE?
You should meet with your mentor at least once per month and prepare discussion points ahead of time. This could include skill-building, career advice, project guidance, or personal development goals. Active participation is key to making the mentorship meaningful.
CAN VALENHORA HELP ME CHANGE MY CAREER?
While we don’t guarantee job placements, Valenhora offers the guidance, tools, and connections to help you progress professionally. Many participants gain confidence, skills, and valuable insights that advance their careers.
APPLICATIONS
CAN I APPLY AS BOTH A MENTOR AND A MENTEE?
Yes! You can register as both if you have the experience to mentor someone while also learning from another mentor.
IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS?
Yes, applications close once the intake for the year is full. Check our website for specific dates.
DO I NEED A PORTFOLIO?
Portfolios or work samples are encouraged but not mandatory. Focus on demonstrating your goals and what you hope to achieve through the program.
I’M NEW TO THE INDUSTRY. CAN I JOIN?
Absolutely! Valenhora welcomes participants at all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals.
PLATFORM & COMMUNICATION
HOW DO I CONNECT WITH MY MENTOR?
Mentorship communication primarily occurs through our secure platform, but mentors and mentees can also arrange calls, emails, or video meetings.
CAN I SWITCH MENTORS IF NEEDED?
Yes, if the pairing isn’t working, we will work with you to find a better fit.
WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE DURING THE PROGRAM?
Our team offers guidance on career questions, accessibility needs, and professional development. Workshops and community forums provide additional support.
